Halloween!

Here's some fun pictures from Halloween. After much begging, I finally gave in and let Aislyn be a Princess.[Sidenote: As most of my real life peeps know, I strongly dislike princesses and the whole princess culture crap that's going on. Its all BS in my opinion. "Lets teach our daughters that they are the best thing in the universe, that they need to wait for Prince Charming to come and sweep them off their feet because they are helpless little beings that need to be rescued. That they are the most special thing in the universe and can never be wrong..." I think this phenomenon has encouraged the self-entitlement and nanny state mindset of the current generation. It promotes learned helplessness. Children need to be taught how to cope, how to deal with hard situations logically and successfully, without hand holding and coddling. It does not mean that you are not a kind loving parent, nor that you don't think your child is special. It does, however, mean that your head isn't up your-you-know-what and that you are trying to prepare your child for real life situations and be successful. But I digress...] As I was saying, Aislyn wanted to be a princess, and I gave in because she had her heart set on it, no matter how hard I tried to change her mind. We curled her hair, put her in a pink dress, got her the gaudiest hello kitty crown and wand thing ever and sprayed glitter all over her. She was ecstatic. We had a few friends over, including Aislyn's friend Layna, and went trick-or-treating then had dinner and then went back out trick-or-treating. The two little girls had a blast and were worn out by the end of the night.

I hope your Halloween was just as fun as ours!
